Listening for the Truth Behind the Words

Inside and outside of these walls at the Chicago Men’s Center, men learn a different kind of listening. It is more than waiting for a turn to talk. It is the practice of hearing what a man says while also sensing the truth underneath. Many of us were taught to be brief, to keep it together, to carry on. After a while, those habits can bury the very message that needs to be heard. Listening beneath the surface becomes the doorway back to connection.
